Imagine a World Where Everyone Can Read…

LitWorld’s World Read Aloud Day, which was established to raise awareness about the importance of literacy, is coming up March 5 and has been on my mind. How serendipitous to come across a video—actually, a commercial—that is essentially about the transformative power of literacy.

I have to credit Alyson Beecher for posting this video on her excellent blog, Kid Lit Frenzy. As she suggests, watch it more than once to catch all the delightful details. Ah, if only all commercials were this positive and creative.

LitWorld’s programming for youths cultivates 7 core strengths that inherently exist within each child: belonging, curiosity, kindness, friendship, confidence, courage, and hope. You find all these traits displayed in this two-minute video.

Thank you for sharing this — it was beautiful and I admit I cried. Everyone should watch this.
